Life Story Birthday Cake

This is a very special cake to me – it was ordered by a special friend of mine, to mark someone special’s 60th birthday! A unique cake was required for this special person, as the interesting and beautiful life story of this birthday boy was recounted to me. That is what inspired the design of the cake - a cake that tell the life story of the birthday “boy”!

Everyone has a story, what’s yours? I would love to hear it!

Peppa Pig…Oink oink!! Peppa Pig!!

I was so excited when I received the order to do a "Peppa Pig" themed cake. My munchkin loves Peppa Pig so I was pretty familiar with this cute little piggie!

This is the cake for the beautiful Chloe who turned 2-years old last week. All of the figurines you see are handmade!! Obviously, Chloe loves Peppa Pig. Her lovely mum even designed this cake with me. It was my pleasure dealing with  Chloe's mum, who not only liked my cake art, but also understands and appreciates the effort that goes into each of our unique and customised designs.

Happy birthday, little Chloe!!! I believe you were spoilt by your parents and I hope you enjoyed the cake!
Now the theme song of Peppa Pig is playing in my head...Peeeeeppa Pig, Peeeppa Pig!!!

I have the honour to make a simple sweet cake for Caitlyn. Her sweet mummy specified a cake with Caitlyn and her little bunny soft toy together with their two darling pet bunnies at home. I customised the figurine of Caitlyn based on a photograph of her.

Blessed birthday Caitlyn! I am sure you had a great day of pampering by your parents.

Simple Fullmoon cake with painting

I know I really should stop baking till next year but this is a last minute, urgent request order from a friend for her son’s Full Moon celebration party.

For those of you wondering what this Full Moon celebration means, according to Chinese custom, when a baby turns one month old, a ceremony is held to celebrate her first month of life (the Chinese term translates as "full moon"). This coincides with the end of the new mom's confinement period and both mom and baby are formally introduced to the extended family and friends for the first time.

Before the unveiling party, the baby traditionally undergoes a host of rituals. Once that is over, a party is held to celebrate the health of the baby. Relatives and friends gather to give their blessings and gifts to the new baby, and traditional treats such as ang ku kueh and red eggs are featured.

Due to time constraint I decided to make a simple design cake with painting on it. I adore the illustration from Rachelle Anne Miller so decided to use one of her family series illustration in the painting. Thanks to Rachelle for giving the permission to use her lovely work.

I love painting so it comes quite natural for me and it meant the cake was finished in time for the party. Happy 1 month old Ashton!! May the goodness of God shines on you alwaysSmile

Stiletto shoes box cake

From the cake designer to shoes cobbler!!!
heel 1
I had the amazing opportunity to join Verusca Walker’s class to learn Stiletto shoes in August and now had the perfect opportunity to put into practice what I have learned.

I made this cake especially as a birthday present for my best mate.

She wants RED shoe, so I got her some! The shoes design was copied from Verusca.
It’s all edible but I know my dearest friend will keep the shoe as a display piece instead.

high heel 2
I still have lot of area for improvement but I was glad with the way it turned out!
This mark the last cake for the year for me!!! Till then, my kitchen is closed until next year!!! Time for me to rest!!

Ella’s Christening cake

Remember the dragon baby Full Moon cake I did recently for Ella? Now I had the opportunity to make one for her Christening! Her lovely parents left the design up to me. After some thought, I decided to try out one of the cake design from Debbie Brown’s baby cakes. I love the cakes in that book!!
