Simple Fullmoon cake with painting
For those of you wondering what this Full Moon celebration means, according to Chinese custom, when a baby turns one month old, a ceremony is held to celebrate her first month of life (the Chinese term translates as "full moon"). This coincides with the end of the new mom's confinement period and both mom and baby are formally introduced to the extended family and friends for the first time.
Before the unveiling party, the baby traditionally undergoes a host of rituals. Once that is over, a party is held to celebrate the health of the baby. Relatives and friends gather to give their blessings and gifts to the new baby, and traditional treats such as ang ku kueh and red eggs are featured.
Due to time constraint I decided to make a simple design cake with painting on it. I adore the illustration from Rachelle Anne Miller so decided to use one of her family series illustration in the painting. Thanks to Rachelle for giving the permission to use her lovely work.
I love painting so it comes quite natural for me and it meant the cake was finished in time for the party. Happy 1 month old Ashton!! May the goodness of God shines on you always

Stiletto shoes box cake
I had the amazing opportunity to join Verusca Walker’s class to learn Stiletto shoes in August and now had the perfect opportunity to put into practice what I have learned.
I made this cake especially as a birthday present for my best mate.
She wants RED shoe, so I got her some! The shoes design was copied from Verusca.
It’s all edible but I know my dearest friend will keep the shoe as a display piece instead.
I still have lot of area for improvement but I was glad with the way it turned out!
This mark the last cake for the year for me!!! Till then, my kitchen is closed until next year!!! Time for me to rest!!

Lightning Mcqueen theme birthday cake
I have fun trying a few decorating technique in this cake.
This Lightning Mcqueen topper was firstly carved out from styrofoam, then covered with fondant for decoration and finally, I applied the detail and touch up. I have to say I was quite pleased with the result..
I even customised the Cars logo with the birthday boy’s name.
Happy birthday, Jaden!!! I am sure you will have a great birthday party with your lovely parents. Hope you enjoy your cake.

Special shoes for the man in my life
This is a very special cake for the man in my life who loves sport shoes!!!
Always the shoes he likes are all so beyond my budget (yes he has really high taste with shoes!!!), so I rarely can afford to get him one. This year though despite of the hectic schedule I decided to make him a cake in the form of shoes he likes.
I decided to just make a small cake since we have been loaded with a lot of cakes recently. So this shoes cake is in kids size 4. This is my 1st attempt of shoes cake. When he shown me the photos of the shoes he likes – NIKE Kobe VII 7 WBF, at first glace it looks quite a simple design, but when I zoom in the detail, I was shocked to find out this shoes has so much of detail from its textures to its shoes laces!!! It took me quite sometimes to put up the detail but I’m quite happy with the end result.
Happy and blessed birthday darling! This is the only “shoes” close to your dream shoes that I can afford for now!! Hope you like it

Rose bouquet wedding cake
It had a rather interesting caking week this week doing totally different theme cakes. The former is a kid’s theme birthday cake and this is a elegant wedding cake.
This is my latest wedding cake. Design is inspired by Bella Cupcakes (Vanessa Iti).
Bouquet on the top tier is based on bridal’s bouquet and the diamond buckle in the middle tier is a similar buckle in bridal gown.
This is one of the cakes that I spent a lot of time on it mainly due to the rose bouquet. This rose bouquet on the top tier is based on bridal’s bouquet. It is all handmade and there are over 80 roses in that bouquet!! I’m glad that it turns out as what I want it to be, so all the effort has been paid off.
And this is my first time playing with stencil! It is rather messy to begin with but I have learned a few tips throughout the process. Hopefully in near future I can try out more stencil design on the cake and can achieve even better result.
Oh, did I mention that this is not a real cake? All the 3 tiers are dummy cakes as per request by the bride.
This 3 tiers dummy wedding cake is for hire as well! If you are under budget for your wedding cake but would love to have a beautiful elegant cake for cake cutting ceremony and display, you can consider hiring this cake from me and perhaps with some kitchen cakes to serve!
Tinkerbell cake for the fairy girl
This sweet little girl whom I have seen her growing up – Amelie is 4 now!!! Time flies!!
Her lovely parents were having a party to celebrate for her. The birthday requested a fairy them party and her lovely mommy asked me for help to do her a tinkerbell fairy theme cake.
The birthday girl chose the design of the cake, and I did some modification to come out this fairy cake design for her. The plastic fairies cake toppers are provided by the mommy.
Blessed birthday sweet girl!!! It’s so happy to see you enjoyed your birthday party today. May you continue to shine brighter than the fairies in your life to bring glory to God.

The return of Spiderman!
I have the chance to do Spiderman theme birthday order again but this time is cake instead of cupcakes. Have a pleasure to deal with a wonderful mom to design the cake for the lovely birthday boy.
The design of the cake is inspired by Sweet Picasso Cake Creations.
Top tier is red velvet with white chocolate ganache. Bottom tier is chocolate buttercake with dark chocolate ganache.
I have the pleasure to meet up with the lovely mum and the gorgeous birthday boy who say thanks to me for making his cake when I sent the birthday cake over. What a polite gorgeous boy he is!!!
I’m even thrilled to receive the thank you email from Caroline (the lovely mom of the birthday boy) to thank me for the cake and they love it!!! This is the best reward for me!!
Thank you so much for giving me the honour to do your boy’s birthday cake Caroline!! Hope to be able to make you more beautiful cake in future.

Cakes back in April–outdated post
I just realised that I did a few more cakes back in April which I yet to posted out.
As I have a few back to back orders that time, time was limited for me. These are the few cakes that didn’t have time to take a proper photos but just a quick one with iphone.
This Thomas the train theme cake was special diet cake. I didn’t do special diet cake, this is the exceptional for my friend’s boy who turned 3. The mountain was craved out from the cake with birthday boy’s 2 favourite train figurines.
This was the 1st birthday cake with plane them and the birthday boy’s mom wanted the topper with the birthday boy in the plane. It was a tall cupcake tower set with matching cupcakes design. However, I didn’t manage to capture any except for the cake. Hope to be able to receive some photos from the customer one day.

1st Clay Figurines Class
Well, this is really an out-dated post. I just realised that I never had a chance to post this. End of last year December, I had a chance to go for an intensive clay class with a very good clay master in Penang while having a holiday visiting family and friends there. It was an intensive clay class so to speak before I have very limited time to spare for the class, thus, accumulatively I only managed to spend 2 days to learn 6 cute human figurines! These figurines are made of resin clay – the best clay I ever play with so far!!! Light weight, flexible and durable, and it is air dry clay!
postman that delivers loves!
the cute garden fairy
However, I am very pleased with the result and I’ve learned a lot of skill from the master from modelling the figurine from head to toe, to colouring and handling it. I fall in love with clay after this. It is much more “versatile” with compare with fondant and so fun to play with.
the super boy!!!
the princess party girl!
And the great thing is that I was able to bring back all the figurines I made in the hand carry box without any damage!! I really hope I have opportunity to learn more from the master in future if I ever have some spare time when I am in Penang.
